Frequently asked questions

Chiropractic is a healthcare approach focused on improving the function of the spine and nervous system to promote overall well-being. Since the nervous system controls every part of your body and is protected by the spine, issues like misalignments or tension can disrupt communication between the brain and body. Chiropractors use gentle, hands-on techniques to adjust the spine and soft tissues, restoring alignment and reducing interference.

Yes, we are! ACC will subsidise a set amount per visit for a limited time. Once an injury is corrected, the ACC claim is complete. Talk with the chiropractor to see if you qualify. If you are already approved with another professional, then bring in your details. ACC does monitor treatment plans and reserves the right to accept or decline treatments.

A chiropractic adjustment typically does not hurt. Many people experience an immediate sense of relief after the adjustment. However, some may feel mild soreness or stiffness the following day as their muscles adapt, similar to the feeling after a workout. These sensations usually subside quickly and are temporary.

The “pop” you hear during a chiropractic adjustment happens when gas bubbles in the joint are released. As the chiropractor applies pressure, the pressure change causes these bubbles to release, creating the popping sound. It’s completely harmless and simply means the joint is moving more freely.

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement and won’t interfere with what your chiropractor can feel when checking your spine. You may be asked to remove bulky items such as down puffer jackets, as well as shoes for certain exercises or treatments.
